Kickoff in AachenIn 1996 Norbert Braun, who is the founder and the manager of GVB, dared to take a decisive step: He started his own business and imported rods and tubes made of colored glass to trade them. Since there had been hardly any offers for artists in Europe, the range of satisfied customers kept growing constantly. Right from the very beginning competence and an excellent service have been in the center of GVB’s company policy.
Soon there was a need for bigger premises. So GVB moved to Aachen-Eilendorf. This came along with the tapping into new markets, a fast increase in staff members as well as the establishment of new business segments.
The new building including an office complex, a workshop as well as a bigger logistics center with a storage space of 1500 square meters in Herzogenrath has been the company’s seat since 2010. Currently, about 20 employees are working here. But GVB also has a joint venture in China, where further staff is employed. Quality awareness and customer orientation are the essential pillars for the company. Today GVB GmbH - Solutions in Glass is one of Europe’s most versatile providers of technical special glass. GVB provides customers of each size and from almost every industry sector (they are – for example- working in the automobile industry, the chemical industry, the, solar industry, the laser industry, the semiconductor industry or the water treatment industry) with professional advice, high-tech and special glass such as borosilicate glass or quartz glass. Mid-size companies, small-scale operations and artisans mainly buy technical glass, luminaire glass and handcrafted glass.
